Change is the only constant in our lives and we’re always developing different strategies to cope with it; sometimes unconsciously. We bend with the winds to as much resilience we have inside.
At times, we initiate that change to bring in the new and we embark on a journey that is far from fun.
And to us women, change happens inside of us even more frequently than it happens on the outside. And we are trying to assimilate it even when we decide to just give up and go with the flow; because in reality surrender is a coping strategy as well.
The challenges women have these days are not any less than that of the women who came before us. Their victories have made lots of things easier for us, but with the immense progress of the world, new challenges arise and we are expected to meet them.
Expectations from ourselves and others are also challenging for us at times, especially when we are expected to do things a certain way and not our own way.
A woman is expected to be as successful as a man and to do it his way. Little are we allowed to discover our own way of doing things, and even when we do discover it; we are simply confronted with “it doesn’t work this way”.
I believe that at one point we will be able to show the world that things can be done differently. But till then we’ll have to battle our inner demons that are more aggressive than those on the outside.
So when these demons take charge, they resist this change slowly; just because it is something new. Our minds are great at protecting us, even when this protection is not needed. Change is always declared unsafe by our minds because it does not follow the old programming. Thus, protection comes in the form of resistance.
Just when we think we are getting the hang of sailing towards new lands, a huge storm strikes and our sails break. It is the point we hit the lowest when the external battle changes direction towards the inside. Now we are not fighting something or someone outside of us. What we are fighting now, lies inside. This is absolutely the hardest stage before reaching the top; the riskiest part of the journey and most painful.
This is the point where I invite you to take a deep look inside you. Look into your heart that carries your true essence. This essence that is able to bring so much healing into this world; and the world needs it.
See it takes courage and determination to break through the programming of the mind, to stop rationalizing and go with the heart. Courage is what we need at this point. It is that roar that has been there all along but now grew subtle. It is what remains when hope, excitement and expectation seem to have left us.
That’s when we need to remind ourselves of our true power as women and that this power can move mountains. It is just that sometimes this power does not roar, it whispers through faith, patience and perseverance.
It requires faith in yourself, and your capacity of bringing enormous change into this world but in a very gentle, loving, nevertheless effective way.
As we silence the mind, we get to hear the heart speak. Suddenly, we are standing in witness to what is happening and clarity takes over the scene. We realize how much power we hold inside of us, a power fueled by our hearts and our feminine energy.
This requires an act of releasing on our part; releasing of what no longer serves us to step into this new reality that we want to create.
Dear women, please realize that within you lies an immense source of energy that is capable of changing this world into more peace, love and healing; you just need to allow your feminine essence to lead you. The world is craving to be led by this energy.
